MOVES Managed Services (MMS) is a family- and employee-owned company founded in 2018 by David and Lori Hoe. The inspiration for Mobile Veterinary Specialists (MOVES) came from their experience working with mobile specialists who supported their network of hospitals in Charlotte, North Carolina. They saw firsthand how clients valued the convenience of receiving specialty care within the familiar environment of their home clinic—and as business owners, the Hoes appreciated the ability to retain revenue within their own practice.
The foundational idea behind MOVES was simple yet powerful: for every veterinary specialist eager to start a mobile practice independently, there was likely another just as eager—yet looking for the support and infrastructure of a well-organized team. That team became known as Basecamp, the backbone of MOVES’ operations. This vision proved successful. Today, MOVES supports over 40 board-certified surgeons, cardiologists, and internists, delivering specialty care in communities across the United States. In 2024, the company expanded its model by launching a franchising option—empowering veterinary specialists who want both ownership of their practice and the comprehensive support that MOVES provides.
Having built deep expertise in helping specialists succeed as mobile veterinarians, it was a natural progression for MMS to extend this support to general practice veterinarians. In 2025, they launched HomewardVet—the first and only franchise model designed specifically for mobile veterinary house call services.
Looking ahead, MMS remains committed to its roots as a family- and employee-owned company. It will continue to lead the way in mobile veterinary medicine, setting the standard for excellence and innovation across both specialty and general practice services.
